new york fashion week: highlights so far

Victoria Beckham’s structured neutral-toned coat was a stand out in a collection that didn’t impress otherwise. The suede boots beneath the olive skirt are a little too much, but the outfit would be gorgeous if substituted with black pumps. I did love the fact that Janice Seinen walked in this show, she’s one of my model obsessions at the moment.

I need this Adam sweater, you don’t understand. The sheer blouse is amazing, too, incredibly versatile. On a side note, all the models at Adam looked absolutely gorgeous.

And I would love the first Ruffian dress if we hadn’t all seen Stella McCartney do it. Okay, that’s a lie, I still adore it, but file the cut under things-I-could-never-possibly-wear. Tallulah’s fairy princess dress is quite delectable, too.

Karlie opened with a stunner at Prabal Gurung, though I want to hitch the dress a little higher up her chest. I loved how this collection showed versatility, though there were a few looks that seemed out of place - I loved the meringue pinks, but they were in a completely different world.

Preen’s collection featured modernist prints in fantastic colours and a stunning twist on navy blue - in every way it could be worked. Absolutely adored this show.

John Patrick, like everyone else in the world, is insistent on bringing back the nineties. Mostly, it’s unnecessary, but this floral dress was a standout.

Ignoring the fact that I love anything that hangs off Sigrid Agren, the unexpected blue and orange worked together. The electric colours were an interesting offset to Rag & Bone’s usual style, but I still think they do neutrals better.
